I’m John, a PhD-qualified biologist and mathematician. I offer friendly one-to-one tutoring in science and mathematics, specializing in A-level biology tutoring. My wife, Sammy, offers language tutoring in French, Spanish, German and Italian. She is a former head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) at a secondary school. Between us, we have hundreds of hours’ tutoring experience, at all ages from GCSE/IGCSE and A-level, through to university students, post-graduates and adult learners. I’m really pleased with our experience at Accelerate Learning so far. My child enjoys the classes and likes her tutor. I have a lesson report via email the same evening letting me know how she has got on and what’s she’s working on. Communication is excellent. Periodic assessments let me know how my child is progressing. Top marks so far!
My son is in year 4 and he is in ALC since 3 months to prepare for blue coat entry exam. It was recommended for me by a friend. I’m happy so far with the math, but my son loves math. He is finding English harder, and I can see slow improvement in his level. He still need to much to do on his writing and I think a more structure feedback on his writing and exposure to some model answers would help him get the skill and know what exactly he needs to do, it is still a bit vague I would say but it could be too early to judge now! I would wait for few more months and see!
My daughter loves Accelerate learning and her confidence has grown. She enjoys earning tokens and ‘cashing’ them in. The group size is small and the teachers are very supportive and encouraging. My younger daughter is also starting this month and is excited. Would highly recommend.
